Incorporated in California in 1992, PACE designs, manufactures and rents professional imaging equipment for film, television and commercial productions. The company is networked in twelve major locations around the globe to provide services worldwide.

Background.
In the 70’s, Vincent Pace, President of PACE, built underwater housings for Al Giddings, Camera Operator for The Deep, The Abyss, For Your Eyes Only, and Titanic. In the 80's, during pre-production for The Abyss, Vince Pace was instrumental with the design and manufacture of the underwater lighting system which received a Technical Academy Award.

In the 90's, PACE introduced a line of WetSet™ equipment, which withstands the rigors of wet environments. Our WetSet™ products are built using corrosion-resistant materials, making them suitable for rain, storm and underwater sequences. Every single product undergoes vigorous testing for safety and performance.

   

Recently, Vince Pace was the co-designer of the Reality Camera System with Jim Cameron used on the production of Ghost of the Abyss. Vince Pace also worked as the Director of Photography on the film, working Handheld, Steadi Cam, Dolly, Crane Arm, and two and a half miles on the deck of the Titanic, Vince Pace was able to creatively acquire images.
During its history, PACE has been creating, testing, building and manufacturing a broad range of innovative equipment for a variety of underwater film and commercial productions. We work closely with Directors of Photography, Gaffers, Set Designers, and Theme Park Lighting Engineers to create housings and fixtures for use in wet environments.

Clients include Warner Brothers, Paramount Pictures, Industrial Light and Magic, Disney, ABC and BBC, among others. We supplied over 400 underwater lights for Jim Cameron’s blockbuster, Titanic. PACE supported Sphere with over 700 fixtures, including building the largest underwater greenscreen, and custom-designing helmet lights that illuminated the actors’ faces and powerful Xenon™ searchlights. Recent film productions featuring Pace custom products include: Titanic, Deep Blue Sea, In Dreams, Babe 2, Snake Eyes, Sphere, U.S. Marshals, Life at the Edge and BBC Blue Planet.
